Dick Daniels is Vice President, Consulting Services and an ICF Certified Executive Coach with Right Management’s Florida/Caribbean Region.
Dr. Daniels offers Right Management’s clients more than 17 years of leadership development consulting and executive coaching with C-Suite leaders. As a leadership architect he designs customized leadership development frameworks and systems to align emerging, mid-level and senior level leaders with strategic business objectives. As business strategist, coach, adjunct professor, and awarded author, he is a proven resource for shaping a results-focused leadership culture within the unique priorities of each organization.
As a Coach, Dr. Daniels’ addresses three aspects of leadership development: (1) Leadership Behaviors – including executive presence, (2) Leadership Competencies – a concentration on specific skills tied to business outcomes and the values underlying organizational culture, and (3) Leadership Capacity – the readiness to lead at higher levels of organizational complexity. Dick uses research-based assessments and 360 degree interviews with direct reports, peers, and senior leaders to establish developmental priorities for coaching.
Recent consulting and coaching engagements include:
- Best practice model for organizational leadership development: Developing Leaders at Multiple Levels in Any Organization. Presented at the 2016 ATD Regional Conference and 2017 National Conference (Association for Talent Development).
- Designed the Leadership Collaborative, a 12-month leadership academy for senior leaders with a monthly focus on leadership competencies and leadership behaviors critical to executive leadership. Participant case studies and capstone projects complete the active learning approach with on-the-job application.
- Led a “CEO Roundtable” with 16 corporate CEOs meeting monthly for four years in a half-day format to address their shared business challenges. Then he met with each leader on a bi-monthly basis to address individual leadership development agendas.
Business/Organizational Leadership Experience
Prior to joining Right Management, Dr. Daniels was the leadership development specialist for the 13,000-employee regional healthcare system in Fort Myers, Florida. Prior to that he was a leadership consultant in Minneapolis, MN with a healthcare system including 24,000 team members in seven regional hospitals, 42 primary care clinics, and 55 specialty clinics. His extensive leadership consulting and executive coaching experience in Minnesota and Florida has included system design and
implementation for clients across other industry sectors as well. Dick is an ICF Certified Executive Coach (International Coach Federation) providing six to 18-month coaching engagements with emerging, mid-level, and senior leaders. He also serves as an adjunct professor in the doctoral program in organizational leadership Stockton University (New Jersey). Dick is an experienced speaker, trainer and author. His published work includes the nationally awarded, Leadership Briefs: Shaping Organizational Culture to Stretch Leadership Capacity (2015). Dick also contributed a chapter, Leadership Musings, in the 2019 Building Bridges series from the International Leadership Association. Leadership and Power in International Development: Navigating the Intersections of Gender, Culture, Context, and Sustainability. This book was awarded the R. Wayne Pace 2019 Book of the Year by the Academy of Human Resource Development. Also in 2019, Dick published a children’s picture book: The Oak Street Tree House.
Education and Training
Dr. Daniels received his Doctorate in Adult Development (Bethel University, St. Paul, MN), Master’s degree in Student Development in Higher Education (Loyola University, Chicago), and a B.A. degree in sociology (Trinity International University, Chicago). Dick is active in global humanitarian efforts with a focus on training leaders and building leadership cultures. He has led and participated in service trips in global locations including Ghana, Ecuador, Norway, Kuwait, and South Africa.
