As Chairman & Founder of Right Management – Florida/Caribbean Tom Shea focuses the energy of the region on exceeding client expectations in outplacement, executive coaching, assessment and leadership development, in coordination with the firm’s 49 country network. His emphasis is on expanding C-suite level services for clients and candidates while overseeing the firm’s six-office team.
A recognized authority on outplacement and the war for talent, Tom is known for anticipating and guiding organizations through the challenges of rapid change. Tom and his wife, Maureen, founded Florida’s first outplacement firm which became one of the original regions of Right Management. Right Management, now a subsidiary of Manpower, provides a full range of talent management and career management services.
An in-demand business speaker, Tom has been called upon as an expert panelist by major news organizations and has appeared on CNN, CNN International, ABC, CBS and NBC. With his finger on the pulse of the region’s business community, he is a frequent commentator for the Sun-Sentinel’s South Florida 100 Forum of Influential Business Leaders.
Tom was a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta – Miami Branch during the tenure of Chairman Ben Bernanke. A cornerstone of Florida’s business community for more than 30 years, he is Chairman of the Board of the Florida State University Center for Human Resource Management, an Executive Committee member of the Broward Workshop and serves on the board of the NSU Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. He also founded and chairs the South Florida Senior Human Resources Roundtable.
Tom is a recipient of the United Way’s Corporate Citizen Award, was awarded the Silver Medallion by the National Council for Community & Justice and has been inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame. He was also honored as an outstanding community leader by St. Anthony’s Catholic Church received the Diamond CEO Award from the South Florida Business Journal and the Sun-Sentinel presented him the Excalibur Award as Business Leader of the Year. Most recently, he was inducted into the NSU Huizenga Business School Entrepreneur Hall of Fame
